In addition to Essential Phone, the start-up company founded by Andy Rubin has also unveiled a 360-degree VR camera as the phone’s first accessory.
The 360-degree camera is dedicatedly designed for Essential Phone. It measures approx 67mm long by 32mm wide by 12mm thick and weighs less 35 grams. As shown in the images, the VR camera sports an ultra portable and lightweight from factor, which makes it an ideal companion for convenient 360-degree video recording and stills.
The mini camera comes equipped with dual 12MP fisheye lenses. Each lens features f/1.8 aperture and 210-degree FOV, so you can use it to record up to 4K 360-degree videos at 30 fps, and its four built-in microphones allow it to record 3D audio during video recording. In addition, two magnetic connectors let you effortlessly attach the mini camera on your Essential Phone, and the magnetic connection is also designed for cord-free data transmission.
The 360-degree VR camera has also been available for preorder. Just adding $50 to your order for Essential Phone will let you own the accessory. It also will be available separately for $199 USD.
