The Alpha a9 is a high-performance full-frame camera that measures 5.0 x 3.8 x 2.5 inches and weighs 1.48 lbs. As we can see from the images, the mirrorless camera shows off a low-profile and sleek appearance design, and its magnesium-ally body delivers a lightweight and durable construction. Meanwhile, it’s fully weather-sealed for use in trying environmental conditions, and the ergonomic grip lets you comfortably hold the camera for any shooting and recording session.
The mirrorless camera comes equipped with a first-for-full-frame 24.2MP Exmor RS stacked CMOS sensor and BIONZ X image processor in order to produce high quality imaging, and it supports up to 20fps continuous shooting and 4K video recording. The sensor’s back-illuminated design achieves an extended sensitivity of ISO 204,800 for clean image quality in various lighting conditions.
Furthermore, its focal-plane phase-detection autofocus system features 693 points and 25 contrast-detection areas for quick and precise focusing, and the apt focusing system delivers multiple focusing functions, including Lock-on AF, Expand Flexible Spot and Eye AF for different shooting themes. The full-frame camera has 5-axis SteadyShot INSIDE image stabilization that’s designed to significantly reduce camera shake during handheld shooting of stills and video, and it always works even when used with third-party lenses and lenses with built-in optical stabilization.
The Aloha a9 has a 3,0″ touchscreen tilting LCD for intuitive menu navigation and live viewing shooting, and its quad-VGA OLED Tru-Finder EVF features a Zeiss T anti-reflective coating and a fluorine coating. In addition, other features also include dual SD card slots, WiFi, Bluetooth and integrated LAN terminal for wired FTP transfers.
