Segway has unveiled Drift W1, a pair of innovative electric skates. With the portable and lightweight design, the e-skates brings numerous stylish ways to ride. Cool? Let’s keep checking.
The Drift W1 is a pair of unique and advanced electric skates. Each skate measures 12.5 x 10.6 x 8.7 inches and weighs approx 7.7 lbs. As we can see from the images, each e-skate unit features a compact and lightweight design, and elastic bands at the rear end allow you to easily hold on both skates in one hand for easy carrying. Meanwhile, the frame of Drift W1 is made of magnesium alloy for a tough and lightweight construction, and the flame retardant shell delivers a streamlined and ergonomic design. The anti-skidding foot pedal helps secure to rider’s foot on the skate.
Segway Drift W1 comes equipped with a powerful 220-watt hub motor and a lithium-ion battery in each e-skate unit in order to deliver a maximum speed of 7.5mph and 45-minute riding time with a payload of 165 lbs. Furthermore, a torque of lower than 6 Nm is designed to optimize the steering and riding experience, and the solid rubber tires provide improved riding stability and steering capabilities. In addition, Drift W1 comes with a 10mm anti-collision silicone bumper at both ends of each skate to absorb impact and minimize damage from collisions.

The team behind Drift W1 is raising fund for the product on Indiegogo. We can pledge $369 to preorder the electric skates. The Drift W1 will be shipped in October 2018.
